Our Story

We started Spreading Smiles Foundation in January 2023. We are three teenage girls, Brit Richards (President), Gracie Strickland (Vice President and Treasurer), and Molly Ryzewicz (Secretary), from the United States. We first met at a soccer camp in Massachusetts in 2021. In 2023, we were inspired to spread our love for soccer around the world. We started Spreading Smiles Foundation to bring soccer to girls in rural parts of the world where they don’t have the same opportunities and support as girls in the USA.
Our mission is to raise donations of money and equipment for girls soccer teams in Tanzania to promote gender equality and women in sports. We hope to make an impact on girls and inspire them to fight for their rights, on and off the field.
Being teenage girls, we are constantly fighting to be taken seriously, but knowing how privileged we are to be able to play sports and live in a place of gender equality motivates us to not give up on our journey.
